On October 19 2006 during the 6th inning of Game 7 of the 2006 National League Championship Series the Mets and Cardinals were tied at 1. With a runner on first and one out Chavez raced back to the wall leapt and robbed Scott Rolen of a 2-run home run. He subsequently relayed the ball back to first base to double off the runner and end the inning.
